INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY - OPEN DAY

STUDIO OPEN HOUSE

MELBOURNE & SYDNEY STUDIO OPEN DAYS

SUNDAY 21 JUNE, 2026

Celebrated annually on June 21, International Yoga Day was founded by the United Nations in 2015 to recognise the global impact of Yoga in its influence of unity, mindfulness and health as a multifaceted lifestyle practice.
At One Hot Yoga & Pilates, we honour this day not only as a celebration of movement, but also as a chance to open our doors and share the more personal motivations behind what we teach, and why we teach it.

Our Studio Yoga Open Day invites everyone – from curious newcomers to seasoned practitioners – to experience complimentary classes across our Melbourne and Sydney studios, in South Yarra and Potts Point respectively. It’s an opportunity to explore how Yoga, in all its forms, cultivates physical strength, the opportunity to isolate your thinking to your movements and breathing, and ground a more anchored emotional balance as a result.

Book your complimentary classes, and join us in celebrating how meaningfully the yogic practices of asana, pranayama and dhyana can affect your day-to-day wellbeing.

THE ONE HOT APPROACH TO YOGA

At One Hot Yoga & Pilates, our classes are built on three core schools of Yoga, each with a distinct intention in mindfulness and form. Our studios are purpose-built with hydronic heating and considered design to create a slow-paced, intentional space that supports deep, intelligent practice.

WHY WE CELEBRATE

For One Hot Yoga & Pilates, International Yoga Day is a prime opportunity to connect with a community that is as passionate about the practice as a lifestyle as we are.

By opening our studios to those who are interested in adopting the movement philosophy into their own lives, we celebrate not just its capacity to improve our physical and mental health, but the intentions behind approaching the practice in the first place: self-awareness, compassion and connection with your body.

Join us each year to explore, learn and move with meaning.

SLOW HOT FLOW (HATHA VINYASA)

The foundation of our method.
Hatha Vinyasa, the lineage from which our Slow Hot Flow emerges, combines the precision of Hatha Yoga with the fluidity of Vinyasa sequencing. Rooted in ancient Indian tradition, Hatha emphasises physical alignment and mindful breath — the balance of opposing sun (ha) and moon (tha) energies that we imagine in our bodies — while Vinyasa introduces continuous movement guided by inhalation and exhalation.

In One’s 37°C heated studio, this particular practice invites a headspace intent on building strength and stability, while quieting the mind from unnecessary and wayward thoughts by forcing attention to the physical nature of the positions. Each sequence is intended to cultivate awareness by way of control over your body’s motor function; a complete practice for both body and mind.

WARM FLOW

Warm Flow builds upon the foundations of Hatha and Vinyasa with a more physical focus on dynamic transitions, upper body positions and balance.
Originating from the Ashtanga Yoga system and popularised by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, this mode of yoga focuses more on the practice of inversions and arm balances at a cooler 27 degrees, which can often be affected at higher temperatures.

YIN YOGA

Where Yang practices highlight more dynamic movements, its opposite is characterised by lighter isometric pressure, longer holds, and a sense for deep release that comes as a result.
Yin Yoga, influenced by Taoist philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine, targets the body’s deeper connective tissues through long-held, passive poses. Partnered with foam rollers and exercise balls, our forms also highlight myofascial release by focusing on mobility on equipment, via time under tension.

What we find, at the end of the day, is a nervous system that’s more at-rest, owing to the signalling of the body’s parasympathetic responses to its fight-or-flight processes. It complements the more Yang forms of practice like Vinyasa and Power Flow by restoring joint mobility, circulation and calm.
In our 27°C rooms, Yin provides balance to the heat and rhythm of other classes, encouraging introspection, recovery and mindful surrender.

SLOW HOT FLOW ESSENTIALS

One Hot Yoga’s signature Slow Hot Flow Essentials is deconstructed in this workshop style class, held at 37 degrees.
