YOGI HIGHLIGHTS

Toorak Village is the heart of the suburb: a tree-lined shopping precinct with a strong run of cafes, restaurants, independent retailers and specialty food stores. Here are a few worth knowing about.

  • Simon Johnson is a specialty grocer with a serious offering. Exotic spices, imported pantry staples, a well-curated cheese room and quality kitchenware all under one roof. If you cook, it is worth the visit.
  • Woodfrog Bakery operates on the principle that good bread takes time. The loaves reflect that: slow-fermented, carefully made and worth picking up on the way home from class.
  • Coco and Lola is a Toorak boutique focused on Australian design, with a curated edit of clothing and a personalised in-store experience. A good stop if you want to browse something considered.
  • Manicure Laundry is known locally for precise, creative nail services. A good option if you want to wind down properly after a session and are in no rush to get back.
