WINTER SOLSTICE +

WORLD YOGA DAY

"In the midst of winter,
I found there was, within me,
an invincible summer."
- ALBERT CAMUS

ON THE LONGEST NIGHT, A HEATED CANDLELIGHT FLOW TO LIVE MUSIC.
6.30pm TUESDAY 21st JUNE

Join us for a candlelit Slow Hot Flow yoga class, accompanied by live musicians in celebration of World Yoga Day and coinciding with the Winter Solstice.

The 90-minute Slow Flow class will be in the studio’s signature style of mindful movement at 37ºC, designed to focus on balance, deep core strengthening, floor work and will end with a guided relaxation, all to a soothing, calming soundtrack of harmonious strings. Yogis of all levels are welcome.

WORLD YOGA DAY

The United Nations General Assembly adopted June 21 as International Day of Yoga.

“Yoga … embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature.”

— Narendra Modi, UN General Assembly

WINTER SOLSTICE

Winter solstice occurs on the shortest day and longest night of the year, when the sun’s daily maximum elevation in the sky is at its lowest. The winter solstice itself lasts only a moment in time, so other terms are used for the day on which it occurs, such as “midwinter”, or the “shortest day”. It is often considered the “extreme of winter”. Worldwide, many cultures hold a recognition of rebirth, involving festivals, gatherings, rituals or other celebrations on the solstice.
