Theme of the Week: Worthiness

Here is another one of our favorite quotes.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine.
We were born to make manifest the glory that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
– Mariane Williamson

Do you ever have these moments where you envision something incredibly beautiful and amazing? Like an idea or a moment in the future? What do you do with those moments? Do you stuff and pack them away? Or do you let them grow? Every single idea, every thought, every feeling. It’s all worthy. Worthy of attention.

Although we understand that worthiness doesn’t always come naturally. It’s tough because on one hand if you feel worthy there can be a fear of people thinking you’re arrogant or demanding. And then on the other hand if you feel you’re not worthy you look weak and lacking confidence. It’s a tricky balance to communicate and act in a way that exudes humbleness and confidence at the same time. Especially when we have to ask for things. Feeling worthy, acting worthy and doing so in a confident, considerate way is a skill and practice. This does not happen overnight. You can also be on both ends of the spectrum based on the situation you’re in. It’s a practice. It’s really important to be kind to yourself and others as you practice embodying worthiness. If you can work from a place of kindness, it will slowly become easier to value yourself and communicate that value in a way that encourages others to also value themselves.
