One Hot Teacher Series: Jaimi Iredale

Jaimi, Pilates teacher Potts Point

What is your hometown?
Sydney, NSW- I’ve lived here my whole life!

Where did you complete your teacher training?
I completed my teacher training with Jane Pavlovic from Studio Pilates International in Sydney and Brisbane. She is a wonderful, experienced teacher with an abundance of knowledge to share. I support my teacher training with my Physiotherapy degree and continued professional development courses.

What are three words that describe your teaching style?
Challenging, empowering, informative

What is the #1 thing you love about Pilates?
I love that pilates is accessible for everyone! It can be adapted to any strength, ability or injury, which promotes inclusion and enables all students to achieve their potential. What I love about teaching is that every day I get to see people leaving class feeling happier, healthier and stronger than when they came in!

If you had to pick, what’s your favourite Pilates exercise and why?!
So hard- my favourite reformer exercise would probably be light lunges. They seem simple but target gluteus medius which is essential for everyday biomechanics, they engage the inner thighs to promote lean muscle and they require balance and precision.

Who are you inspired by?
Coco Chanel- for her incredible style and grace but most of all for using her craft and creativity to pave the way for women of the future. Her designs and fabrics gave women freedom to move and participate actively, and challenged gender norms of the time.

Favourite line from a movie?
Not a movie but a TV series- “Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose”- Friday Night Lights

How do you like to “treat yo self?”
A swim at the beach and some paddle boarding ? but if its cold a Laduree macaron will make my day!
