WHAT IS "MEANINGFUL MOVEMENT"?

One has coined the term “Meaningful Movement” to cover the modalities of Yoga and Pilates. These practices share many elements, including the idea that a carefully curated series of exercises is capable of delivering so much more than chiselled abs or a perky, peachy derriere. Some people will get those with regular practice if that is their body type, but we want a lot more from life than rearranging the way the packaging looks.

These modalities address the emotional, mental and physical bodies as well as the physical. Feeling internally strong, integrated, purposeful and peaceful is the real payoff from our selection of hot yoga, power yoga, yin yoga, mat pilates and reformer pilates.

River Street runs parallel to Chapel Street behind the Como building. Walk downhill on Toorak Road and it is the first street on your left.

One began as the first body temperature hot yoga studio in the world, using a unique low energy hydronic heating system to create a velvety, clean 37ºC studio with a spicy signature scent. We have since expanded down the street, reimagining a series of old factories as uniquely beautiful studio spaces.

For all Yoga classes, check in is at 36 River Street.

CHECK IN FOR ALL PILATES CLASSES

For all Group Pilates classes including Reformer and Hot Mat Pilates enter reception at 48 River Street.

NEED TO KNOW

– Arrive hydrated
– Wear clothes you can sweat and move comfortably in
– Mats, blocks and straps are provided
– Towels are available to hire
– Water is available to purchase

– Arrive at least ten minutes before class (there is no late admittance)
– Check-in at reception for all classes
– Observe silence in the yoga room
– No personal belongings in the yoga room other than water and a towel
– No phones in the yoga room (heat and humidity are not technology’s friend) unless you are an emergency services provider on call
– No glass water bottles
– You may lie down at any time to rest, but commit to staying in the room for the whole class
– Wipe down your mat at the end of class with the eco-friendly wipes provided
– Allow yourself at least five classes to acclimatise to the heat and become familiar with the movements

We would love you to do a 21 day trial membership! Because our system isn’t registering you as a new client, we need to put it through for you in the studio or over the phone. Please just show up 15 minutes before class, send us an email or give us a call so we can organise that for you.

No, the 21 day trial membership begins from the date of your first class not the date of purchase. Please note our class cancellation policy – we have a late cancellation window of 4 hours & late cancellation fee of $7.
