Studio Pilates will give you that extra attention you desire. With 1 instructor and 3 clients per session this intimate and exclusive experience is where you see incredible results and fast. Studio Pilates goes beyond the reformer and the mat to the cadillac, making Pilates available to a wide range of people.

One Hot Yoga & Pilates is proud to be the first studio in the world to offer Hot Mat Pilates, in a room set to 27ºC. A strong sequence that emphasises mobility and builds control of the spine and core.

Our Reformer Pilates classes are where you will build strength and overcome mental barriers. The Allegro 2 Reformer helps create change through challenge, where the apparatus becomes an extension of your body, creating a dynamic form of exercise that builds core strength while testing stability with a rolling carriage and resistance springs.

NEED TO KNOW

The Pilates method of exercise was developed in the early 20th century by German-born Joseph Pilates. Pilates believed that mental and physical health are interrelated and his system of exercises was developed with the intention of strengthening both the mind and the body. An energetic inventor, Pilates designed many pieces of equipment (the most famous and versatile being the Reformer) to assist and challenge those practising his method.

One Hot Pilates is a contemporary, fitness-based style that draws on the traditional method and is accessible to all levels.

– Be well hydrated
– Don’t eat for 1.5 hours before class
– Wear clothes you can move in – leggings or shorts and a tank top
– Socks with grippy soles will help you hold poses on the reformer
– If you would like to shower after class, towels are available to hire
– Water is available to purchase
– We have showers with body wash, shampoo and conditioner
– Our change rooms are equipped with hair dryers and straightening irons

– Arrive at least ten minutes before class as there is no late admittance. The studio is open 15 minutes before class
– Check-in at reception for all classes
– No personal belongings in the Pilates studio other than water and towel. There are lockers in the change rooms for valuables
– No glass water bottles
– No phones in the Pilates studio
– Listen carefully to the teacher’s instructions
– You may lie down at any time to take rest, but commit to staying in the room for the entire class
– Wipe the upholstery of the reformer, or your mat and surrounding space before you leave the studio

Meet Tahlia, our pilates program director, pilates enthusiast, teacher training lead facilitator and retreat coordinator. When you sign up at One Hot Pilates in Melbourne she will be the first person you meet. A voice that sings passion and hard work, an expert in her field and someone who will take the care to ensure your experience goes beyond all expectations. She is as much a student as she is a teacher with a thirst for knowledge and commitment to staying open and current, her classes will entertain and transform your understanding of the body and what it’s’ capable of.

ALICE - SENIOR PILATES TEACHER

Alice is an integral part of our One Hot Pilates team in Melbourne. Not only does she teach Reformer, Mat Pilates and private sessions, she is also a facilitator on our Pilates Teacher Training programs. Alice has been moving since she was young and her it’s that she has an innate understanding of the body and the breathe resulting in seamless and choreographed classes that take out of the head and into the body.  She believes in moving well and having fun whilst doing it!

Our Pilates Program Director Tahlia Grogan oversees all Pilates Instructor Training Programs at One. With 12 years and over 13,000 hours teaching experience, Tahlia is a rare talent and an industry leader. She believes a strong understanding of Pilates repertoire integrated with modern science is key to becoming a confident and creative teacher.

Kirby Cameron is both a Senior Pilates Teacher and a Physiotherapist. With 10 years teaching experience and many additional qualifications, Kirby has encyclopaedic movement knowledge. She has designed our anatomy course from the latest research, and excels in making anatomy both relevant and accessible to students.
